This morning, students were released from being applied art, their teacher Camille Betz being deployed outside the school. Most of them however came to work at the workshop, and our project has continued to advance.
The second step in our installation of rivet (hole in the material) requires that a circle 20 cm in diameter. be cut from the sheets. To do this, we must first perform tests plasma cutter, and find a metal piece that can serve as a template,
before moving to cut 2 shots on the final piece.
Meanwhile, another team hits the second slab that will act to end rivet (3 rd step, rivet hammered).
Ariane Bouhours, a journalist for France Center, comes to interview us by late morning. The article should appear next weekend.
the afternoon, our focus is on the front plate the monolith. The hole in the hollow plasma cutter is trimmed to the grinder and hand.
Sections rounds of full metal forming the outgoing rivet our stage 3 (Rivet on) must be recut.
The locations of the rivet engaged (step 3) and hit the rivet (step 4) are plotted, when drilling holes that will allow plasma cutter plug welds.
The first disc is given to the fire to erase traces of brilliant cut bars (used to manipulate the hammer),
then brushed.
The tube forming the body of the rivet pressed (Step 3) is brushed clean of rust.
